Thank God, the Holy Roman Catholic Church and the Spanish Inquisition no longer has power over the populace! Three hundred years ago I would have been tortured and put to death for painting images like the ones on this page. Yes, I was raised Catholic. I had more hypocritical religion shoved down my throat then I care to talk about. Painting these images is very therapeutic for me. Obviously, many of my fans and collectors feel the same way, as these are by far my most popular paintings. I’ve also received emails with death threats and told I’m an evil person, countless times. So I tend to be careful when I choose my audience, I don’t show these images to devout Christians.
